It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Robert on Wednesday July 10th 2024 at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket. Beloved husband to Ida of 57 years. Loving father to Diane McGuire and Steven (Lidia) McGuire. Cherished grandfather to Connor & Kaitlyn Robb, and Kyle & Sarah McGuire. Robert is predeceased by his brother the late Terry (the late Mary) and survived by brother Bill. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and extended family. Robert will be fondly remembered by his many dear friends especially from his 28 ½ years of service with Metropolitan Police Services. He was a proud member of the Newmarket Royal Canadian Legion Branch 426 and the Newmarket Veterans Association. Robert had a love for Golf and was an avid Bridge player. He spent his final days in the care of the Margaret Bahen Hospice and he will be missed dearly. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 707 Srigley Street, Newmarket, on Sunday July 28th, 2024 from 2:00p.m. – 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s name can be made to Margaret Bahen Hospice.
