November 6, 1938 - July 7, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Willows Estate, Aurora, Ontario, at the age of 85. Eileen was predeceased by her adoring husband of over 50 years, Edgar, and will always be loved and remembered by her daughters and sons (in-law), Susan (Danny) and Sharon (Todd). What made her the happiest of all was being a very proud and loving Nanny to Amanda, Samantha, Ryan and Sarah. Eileen is predeceased by her parents, James and Catherine and her brothers, Fergie and Billy. She is survived by her loving sisters, Marie and Peggy, and many nieces and nephews that she loved so much.

Eileen cherished the simple things in life. She was a devoted and loving wife to Ed and they spent many hours walking around the lake at their home in Keswick with their dogs (their last one being sweet, adorable and extremely loved, Shadow). She could not talk often enough to her daughters and grandchildren to share all the daily happenings of their lives or to discuss the news events of the day. She was always there for her family in whatever way was needed (especially with lots of food and treats), but she never stopped missing her family in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She kept in touch and spoke of them all lovingly and often and wished she could have seen them more frequently. Her kind soul was obvious to anyone who met her, and she could not pass a stranger in the street, or in the shops without having a heartfelt conversation. Those cherished conversations, her beautiful singing and her unconditional love is going to be missed terribly, as well as all the hugs and “I love you’s”.

The family would like to thank with all of their hearts, the kind and loving staff at Willows Estate for caring for Eileen for the last few years, and for seeing and appreciating her kind soul. A private service will be held for the immediate family, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of York Region or the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket would be appreciated.
