It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clayton Jude Laval on March 5 at the age of 67.

Clayton was a beloved husband, stepfather, son, brother to six, uncle to many, and Papa, whose presence in our lives brought immense comfort and warmth.

Born on September 15, 1957, in Rangoon, Burma, Clayton came to Canada, via England, and settled into a life of dedication to his family and to his career with York Region municipal government.

Clayton was devoted to his loved ones. He was always quick to offer help to anyone who needed it and wanted nothing in return.
In recent years, his greatest joy was found in spending time with his grandniece Lilly and grandnephew Jackson. He was their best friend and favourite playmate.

Clayton's legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. He will be remembered for his selfless and generous assistance to anyone in need. He had a positive impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Clayton was predeceased by his father Brian Emile Laval (1986), father-in-law Robert Barrett (2006), and sister Hyacinth Yee (2014).
Clayton is survived by his wife Heather, stepchildren Larissa, Heidi and Torsten, his mother, Gladys, sisters Dian (Scott), Terese (Ron), and Chivon (Chris), brothers Hylton (late Liz) and Brian (Debbie), and their children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will take place at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, (647) 955-8057 on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa Street,  Bradford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Martyrs of Japan, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation in Clayton’s memory.

There will be no reception, as per Clayton’s wishes.

May Clayton rest in eternal peace. His memory will forever live on in our hearts.
