It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Henri Paul Joseph Lucien Latreille, surrounded by his loving family at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, in his 80th year.

Born in Saint-Polycarpe, Quebec, on December 30th, 1944, to the late Marie-Ange Sauvé and the late Jean-Paul Latreille, Henri was a man whose life was woven with love, laughter, and a profound sense of family. He grew up with his siblings, including the late Monique, Suzanne (Larry), the late Lisa (Tommy), Susie (Doug), and Andy. He will be missed immensely by each of them and their families.

In 1983, Henri married the love of his life, the late Ruth Latreille, with whom he shared a beautiful journey filled with cherished memories. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, and he now reunites with her in peace.

Henri's legacy lives on through his devoted children, Charlene, Tracey (Mike), Tamara (Louis), Jean-Paul (Karen), Robert (Colleen), and his late daughter, Michelle. He took great pride in being a grandfather, and his grandchildren—Joelle, Jasmine, Mathieu, Braeden, Damien, Jomara, Valerie, Chad, Tyson, Scott, Andrew, Nathan, Courtney, Jerome, and the late Omar—will miss him dearly. His great-grandchildren, Chase and Theo, brought him immense joy in his final year.

Henri was a strong man who loved his children and his grandchildren. He had a nickname for everyone, a testament to the unique bond he shared with those around him. Beyond his love for family, Henri was passionate about hockey, especially the Montreal Canadiens, and he cherished watching his grandchildren play any chance he could get. He also enjoyed wrestling and never missed an episode of ‘The Young and the Restless’. Henri's humour and passions will be cherished by all who knew him .

As we reflect on Henri's life, we celebrate not only the remarkable man he was but also the impact he made on all who knew him. The family would like to thank the CHATS staff at Keswick Gardens for their dedication over the past years and extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre for their compassionate care and support during his final days, allowing him to pass surrounded by love.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please visit www.roadhouseandrose.com for updates on service details.
