With profound sadness and much love, we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Yvonne Lalingo (born Jennings). Elizabeth was predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Anthony, her parents Edward and Dorothy Jennings, and her beloved sisters Helen and Bunny (Violet).

She leaves behind her five children: Susan (Dean), Debbie, Cathy (Gary), Nick (Liz), and Liza (Dave). Elizabeth was also a cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Nicholas, Elizabeth, Rick, Jason, Derek, Lisa, Daniel, Joshua, Nicole, Anthony, Matthew, Chris, Andrew, and Jamie. Her legacy of love extends to her six great-grandchildren: Sophie, Harrison, George, Henry, Hannah, and Noah.

Born and raised in Toronto, Elizabeth’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion. At just 12 years old, she met Anthony, the love of her life. They married when she was 18 and built a beautiful family together, having five children by the age of 25.

Despite the demands of being a young wife and mother, Elizabeth’s creativity, resourcefulness, and passion for learning flourished. She read a countless amount of books and as a result, she cultivated expertise in gardening, cooking, and decorating, sewing, quilting and crocheting -skills that brought beauty and warmth to her home. Her gardens were vibrant masterpieces, her meals were crafted with love from even the simplest ingredients, and her homes radiated comfort and care. Elizabeth truly was the heart of her family, and her nurturing spirit created a home filled with love.

As her children grew and began their own journeys, Elizabeth embraced a new chapter in her life, becoming an Optometric Assistant. She found great joy in this role, connecting with patients and taking pride in her work.

Elizabeth’s legacy is one of unwavering love and devotion. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her cherished dogs brought her immense joy. She will be remembered as a woman of boundless love, who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Elizabeth’s strength, kindness, and dedication to her family will forever be cherished.
