September 18th, 1964 - November 15th, 2023
Ken passed away at his home in Stouffville on November 15th, 2023, after a courageous journey with cancer dating back to 2012. He was surrounded by his immediate family who supported and loved him throughout his journey: his wife and best friend Heather, his sons Christopher and Timothy, his daughter Jennifer, and son-in-law Phillip. He was 59 at the time of his passing.
Ken leaves behind two older brothers, Peter and John and their cherished families. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Jane, and her husband Blair.
As well as treasured time spent with his family, Ken spent years working as a physician within York Region. He graduated from U of T medical school at the young age of 22 in 1987. Since then, his work as a physician allowed him to serve in many diverse roles, tirelessly serving and supporting patients within the community. Ken established many innovative ways to provide healthcare services to the people of York Region. He was the founder of York Medical Clinics. As a result of his work, he leaves behind countless treasured friends, patients, staff, and colleagues – too numerous to mention.
Ken left us too soon. Many of us who knew and loved him are grieving his loss and trying to come to terms with his passing. Ken would want all of us to move forward remembering the good times and shared accomplishments. He would want us to remember him with a smile. Ken’s family wishes to mark his passing with an inclusive Celebration of Life at the time of what would have been his 60th birthday (September 2024). By then, we will have had time to move forward and honour his memory. More details will be provided closer to the date on this site.
We invite anyone who wishes to share comments, photographs and memories to celebrate Ken’s life on this page.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, we invite those who wish to honour Ken’s memory to donate to Colorectal Cancer Canada.
