Passed away peacefully at home in Newmarket. on Monday, January 27th at the age of 81.
Loving husband of Stephanie for 58 years. Dear father of Mark (Clare) and David (Nancy). Proud grandfather of Eric, Gabriel and Isabelle. Brother of Louis Lafleche (Helene) of Orillia, Richard Lafleche of Kirkland Lake, and the late Roger Lafleche. Brother in law of Alison and Grant McIntosh. Denis had a special place in his heart for his godson, Paul Lafleche.
Denis was born in Windsor and grew up in Sturgeon Falls. As a young man, he moved to Hamilton, where he met and married Stephane and raised his family. He began work there as a butcher, then left the trade to become a steelworker. After retirement they travelled throughout North America and beyond, eventually moving to Newmarket to immerse themselves in the adventures of being grandparents. Denis was a lifelong volunteer wherever he lived and never hesitated to pitch in when help was needed.
Special thanks to the York Region EMS paramedics and York Region Police, who responded on the day of his passing. Their sensitivity and kindness was truly valued.
As per Denis’ wishes, there will be no funeral service.
