15-May-1972 - 3-Jul-2024

It is with great pain & sorrow in our hearts and souls that we announce the sudden passing of Christine Kenopic at the age of 52 on Wednesday July 3, 2024. Christine was a Loving, Generous, & Caring Mother to her two sons Zachary & Nathan Kenopic, a Darling, Sweet, Lovable Wife and Best Friend to her husband Kyle Kenopic, a Beautiful, Loving Daughter to her parents, Keith & Anne Mowling, a Caring, Loving sister to her brother Stephen Mowling, a Loving, Caring daughter-in-law to Valerie Kenopic & Paul Watson, a Caring and Supportive Best Friend to Shannon, a Loving Best Friend to Oakley the Lab, and a beloved niece, cousin, and great friend.

Christine will be remembered for her strength & independence, and all the lives she touched throughout the years, particularly the children that Christine influenced in her time as a daycare provider. Christine loved children and loved helping them grow. She would always put other's needs ahead of her own, at great personal sacrifice to herself.

Christine was the greatest mom our family could have ever had. She was strong, kind, and so very loving. She helped tie Nathan’s shoes when he didn’t know how, she helped with the school work even though she didn’t always understand it either, she helped Nathan feel better when he broke his bones, and she helped him laugh when he felt so sad. Laughing was so important to Christine even in the times where we all felt like we could never laugh again.

Christine loved our trips to Florida, we got to see our amazing Family. Christine loved going to the beach to relax, she could sit on the sand for hours on end, she would join us in the ocean and throw Nathan around in the water. The most important thing we could remember from our time in the water was her laugh. She laughed so much, it felt like her tears of joy and laughter calmed the ocean waves.

Christine loved Disney, we went every time we went to Florida. We remember all the rides we went on, and the characters we both laughed with and hugged. She loved the rides even though they would sometimes make her feel sick. She loved the Country Bear Jamboree, we went and watched the show every single time we went. We couldn’t stand the show… but hearing her laugh and watching her smile at those singing bears made the whole show worth it.

Christine loved Nathan’s hockey, and came to every one of his games. She loved watching him play goalie, and he loved watching her smiling and clapping in the stands while he played. She loved calling herself our Hockey Mom, and Nathan called her that with love and happiness.

Christine loved everyone she touched, and they loved her back. She loved being Nathan’s Mom, she always told him it was the most important thing in her life, and he felt the same about her. She was always so proud of him, and it meant so much to Nathan. She was the greatest Mom we could have ever asked for and we are so lucky we got to be with her everyday and call her Mom.

“I love you Mom, forever.”-Nathan Kenopic Aka. Loving Son #2

Christine was the best thing about our family. She was someone that help hold everything together. If anyone needed help with anything, she would be there no questions asked.

Christine’s oldest son Zac was especially close to her. Zac considers himself a mama’s boy shamelessly and is very proud of it. His mom was the person to show him how to do his laundry on his own, which even though it was a chore, she was still very happy to do with him. Christine was able to show Zac many of the life lessons that he uses every day and will continue to use for the rest of his life. Without her, he would’ve truly been incomplete.

“I am so proud to be your son and I can’t believe you are gone. Every day with you was amazing and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I love you so so much mom and I will miss you every day forever"- Zachary Kenopic aka. Loving Son #1

Christine tackled life with strength and optimism despite her diagnosis with Lupus when she was a teenager . . . it was not going to get the best of her. Christine found energy and hope in her sons, in her family, in her work as a daycare provider and inspector . . . she touched so many little hearts and lives during her career.

Christine was so very proud of Zachary and Nathan, and was always in their cheering section – whether it was at school, or at their sports events . . . or just at home.

Christine’s favourite things were butterflies and the colour purple. Please remember her whenever you see these things in your journeys.

A few favourite memories include; our times at the family cottages on Horseshoe Lake (tubing, snowmobiling, boating, playing “Chase” with our cottage friends); and our family trips to New Smyrna in Florida, and Alberta in 1985 (Stampede, horseback riding in Lake Louise, and Christine being chosen to inspect the RCMP Musical Ride).

"My sister left us too suddenly and too early, and we are going to miss her so much. Her laughter and her smile carried us through the toughest times and do we ever need her now! Bisk, I will miss you and always love you."
Love Steve (Beave)

"Christine, you will always be loved and missed."
Love Larissa

“Christine was a very important part of our lives, born in Montreal in 1972. Many special years spent with family on Horseshoe Lake and Lake Boshkong.

We fondly remember her love for Butterflies.

"A butterfly flies beside us like a sunbeam. For a moment its beauty belongs to our world.
Then it flies on, and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel lucky to have seen it"

Rest in Peace Biscuit.”
Love Mom and Dad.

A Love Letter to my Darling, Sweet, Lovable, Wife and Best Friend, Christine;
Each Day with you was special, filled with laughter. We always knew how to make each other smile, and I miss your laugh so much.

You were the best wife a husband could ask for; loving, caring, patient, understanding, supportive, empathetic.
I love you for your sense of humour, your creativeness, your positivity. You completed me and were the best part of me. Without you, I am now just a broken shell. I miss you dearly, as do Zachary, Nathan, and Oakley.
