Kevin John Hammond passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 in his 78th year. He was a beloved father to Troy and Arleen (Andrew), and a proud grandfather of Mae and Walter. Kevin was a cherished brother to Judi (Wayne) and the late Joan (Bill) and loving uncle to Michael (Allison), Jefferey (Mandy), Scott (Hazel) and Steven (Janique). He was the devoted son of the late Mary Cecilia (Mae) and John James (Jack).
Born in Montreal and raised in Lachine, Quebec, Kevin then called Newmarket, Ontario home for most of his life. He had a deep love for golf and cherished his friendships immensely. Kevin was known for his storytelling and his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to laugh, and his tales will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Kevin was a prominent figure in the Canadian Paper and Packaging industry, starting at a young age at Consolidated Paper and spending years honing his skills before becoming the President of Hammond Paper Co. Ltd., a role he was extremely proud of.
A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at Wooden Sticks Golf Club in Uxbridge at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or the Southlake Regional Health Centre, two charities Kevin often supported.
