April 1st, 1942, - May 22nd, 2024

Proud son of the late Glenn and Doris (nee Packer) Grosskurth, Peter leaves behind his loving wife Ann ( nee Margerison) of 58 years, his son Stephen, daughter Kim, and son Glenn (Kim), his grandsons Ryan and Edward, and his great- grandson and favorite little buddy Bennett. Peter also leaves behind his siblings, brother Glen (Ferguson), and sister Janet (Polley).

As a Big Brother, Peter is also fondly remembered by his beloved Litte Brother, Steve Jones.

Peter wore many hats in life; Ward Councilor in the Town of Markham, former Board Member and President of Big Brothers of York, Lifetime member of Markstone Investment Club and lifelong supporter of music, especially Ragtime and jazz. For a brief time, Peter dabbled with playing the banjo but he mostly kept a piano tuned for his longtime friend, Bob Darch (deceased).

Later years in life Peter moved his family to Queensville, to start a new adventure in farming where it opened several doors to lifelong friendships, and many new opportunities.

His retirement years brought him to explore his biggest passion of everything TRAINS. He joined as a volunteer with the York Durham Heritage Railway where he eventually sat on the Board of Directors.

Peter’s enormous sense of humor will carry on his memory. He will be laid to rest in Queensville Cemetery on Tuesday May 28, 2024, at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
