April 1, 1929 – April 18, 2024

It is with much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Myron Cook. A few weeks after celebrating his 95th birthday, Myron was diagnosed with pneumonia and passed peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket.

Beloved husband to Lenora (nee Muciy) for 68 years. Loving father to Terry (Susan) and Christine (late James Ingram). A devoted and fun-loving grandfather to Spencer, Samantha (Ryan), Nicholas (Kim), and Kimberly (Andrew).

Myron studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design which led him to pursuing his career as Chief Engraver at the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa. Then, moving to Toronto as Director of Sculpturing and Engraving at Wellings Mint.

Always a gentleman, Myron was willing to lend a helping hand and was a good friend to all who knew him. Lawn bowling became a passion where he competed in many tournaments and volunteered as a President of the Agincourt Bowling Club. Myron had a keen interest in photography and developing his own photos, he enjoyed building and constructing things; a garage, a wooden boat, televisions and stereos.

He was definitely a do it yourself type and our “Mr. Fix It”. Myron enjoyed boating, looking after his cars, alley bowling, travelling, cruising, cocktails, playing games and spending time with his loving family and friends. Many wonderful memories to keep us smiling when we think about Myron – a life well lived.
Thank you to everyone involved in providing care and comfort for Myron in his final days.

A private service will be held by the family on May 11, 2024.
