Eric passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at the age of 80, having fought a courageous battle against I.B.M.
He is survived by his wife Paula of 56 years, son Eric Paul (Laurie), grandson Kooper, Daughter Jennifer Dougherty (Shawn), and grandson’s Graydon and Nolan
Born in Halifax, He was the youngest of six survived by Robert “Bobby”, Elizabeth Mont and David. Predeceased by Joyce Cyr and Joseph. Dear to his heart were many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s university receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
He then started a varied career in the business world. The highlight was his years spent with Pepsi Cola. After retiring, he obtained his real estate license and joined Royal LePage Terrequity Realty. His passion later in life was watching his three grandsons Graydon, Nolan and Kooper play hockey. His life long passion was golf. He spent many hours at York Downs, where he was a member for 31 years.
Cremation has occurred and a Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket followed by a reception in the church hall. A private family interment to follow. A huge thank you to the staff of Southlake Hospital. They went above and beyond in their care.
