It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dave Burry on October 5, 2024.
Dave was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1948. After graduating from UBC in 1970, he married his high school sweetheart. They moved to Ontario, where they built their life together while always staying closely connected with family back home in BC. Dave leaves his wife, Ali, his daughter Amy, and his son Todd (Caitlin), and granddaughter Violetta.
Dave’s sense of joy and optimism were defining parts of his character. His generosity and his desire to help those in need was always important to him. He had a great sense of humor and wonderful smile.
Later in life, Dave founded his own company, which has thrived under his leadership for over 30 years. His dedication to the company and his employees was unwavering, and many of his team members have been with him since the early days—a true testament to the loyalty, respect, and care he inspired. Dave took immense pride in his company and everyone he worked with.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home located at 524 Davis Dr, Newmarket, Ontario. We invite family, friends, staff, and colleagues to join us in honouring his life and the legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, a donation to United Way, or your local food bank would be appreciated.
Dave will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.
