It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Browning (nee Gregg) at Southlake Regional Health Centre in her 95th year. Predeceased by her parents, Donald and Mabel, and her sister Jean as well as her husbands Murray Emmons and Lyle Browning.

Beloved mother of Bruce (Anne), Nancy, Robert and Lynn (Robert). Adored grandmother to Steven, Kathryn and Robert. Great grandmother to Hoxton, Mackenzie and Ivy. Stepmother to Joanne and Richard. Predeceased by Robert and John.

Mom grew up in Toronto and later settled in Queensville where she raised her family. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and preserving and baking. Mom had a great love of animals. Especially her family’s dogs when they visited.

Mom worked as a lab assistant starting at the Banting and Best institute where she met her husband, Murray. She later worked at York County Hospital now known as Southlake. After retirement she and her husband Lylle had a wood refinishing business. She had a great love of antiques and history. She spent time enjoying auction sales and never missed the opportunity to stop into an antique store or a yard sale.

Mom did a lot of travelling with her sister Jean locally and internationally.

Mom eventually settled in Newmarket and enjoyed her condo and meeting new friends.

Mom was an active member of the Queensvillle United Church and the Union Street Woman’s Institute. She enjoyed many hobbies of knitting, sewing, quilting, wood carving, baking and painting. Mom was very inventive and could make anything she set her mind to. She lived to help others and her family meant everything to her.

We would like to thank the palliative team at Southlake for their help through this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre or Queensville United Church would be greatly appreciated.  Please click on the "Donations" tab.

A celebration of life with be held at a later date.
