You can make your Sunday morning walk with your dog one that changes the lives of animals in need.

Join the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre for the Friends for Life! Walk Sunday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon at 16586 Woodbine Ave.

More than just a fundraising walk, the Friends for Life! Walk is a fun-filled day that offers something for everyone, Cassandra Vaessen, community development assistant with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, said.

From a delicious breakfast and activities for the kids, to dog agility competitions and a vendor marketplace, the event offers attractions and activities for the whole family.

“It’s the perfect way to spend a day with friends and family who share a love of animals,” Vaessen said.

“You don’t need to bring a dog to your community walk to participate. In fact, you don’t even need to own a pet,” she added. “The Friends for Life! Walk is a way for you to give back to your community by helping animals in need.”

A Friends for Life! Walk is taking place in 11 locations across Ontario on the weekend of September 22 and 23. The provincial goal is to raise $300,000 to help care for 568 animals.

If you can’t make it to the walk, you can register to become a virtual walker and walk at your convenience.

Register today, $20, at friendsforlifewalk.ca
