This holiday season, many seniors were warmer thanks to the Nanny Blanket Drive hosted by York Region Paramedic Services.
Established in 2008 by paramedic Helen Galanis who wanted to do more for her community, the drive helps to spread some cheer to seniors who were in hospital over the holidays.
Paramedic Services staff donated new blankets and financial contributions to support the purchase of additional ones. Some were even caringly handmade by paramedics, their family and friends.
Blankets were tied with ribbon and delivered to elderly patients in York Region hospitals on Christmas Eve.
