York Region residents have a new place to access health care as the municipality opened a community services clinic in Georgina July 26.
The new clinic within the Link Community Hub at 20849 Dalton Rd. will offer a range of services, including children’s dental screening, seniors dental care, sexual health, harm reduction support and more. Dignitaries and staff were on site to celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting.
“York Region is committed to delivering quality programs and services to residents across our nine towns and cities,” York Region chairman and CEO Wayne Emmerson said in a news release. “Offering programs and services at The Link helps ensure residents living in northern York Region can access more wrap-around supports from one convenient location.”
The hub, located about 37 kilometres from Newmarket, opened in 2015 and has nine service providers offering community programming.
The York Region programs on offer will also include breastfeeding clinics, well water sample drop-off and an Ontario Works meeting location. All programs will be by appointment only, with registration available during daytime hours.
The town is thrilled to welcome the clinic, Georgina Mayor Margaret Quirk said.
“This facility is such a unique opportunity to provide so many different services to our residents, who no longer have to travel far to receive them,” Quirk said. said. “I would like to thank York Region for sharing in our vision of what The Link can offer Georgina residents and wanting to be part of it.”
