NEWMARKET - On behalf of York Regional Council and the residents of York Region, it is with sadness we learn of the passing of former Town of Georgina Mayor Jeffrey Holec.
Serving as Georgina’s Mayor from 2000 to 2003, Jeff was deeply committed to his community and York Region as a whole.
During his tenure on Regional Council, Jeff demonstrated his devotion to the health and well-being of our residents through his committee work supporting Community Services and Housing and Emergency Medical Services, plus his collaborative efforts with our partners at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Jeff contributed to the betterment of our environment through his involvement on the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.
The Regional Municipality of York extends our deepest condolences to former Mayor Holec’s family and loved ones. Flags at the York Region Administrative Centre are lowered to half-mast in honour of our former colleague.
