The Town of Newmarket is bringing back one of its signature winter events as Frozen Fridays start up again at the downtown's Riverwalk Commons Dec. 2.

The annual winter celebration will feature festivities every Friday throughout the month of December. You are invited to enjoy live performances, outdoor skating, free hot chocolate, a holiday train ride and more.

“Frozen Fridays presented by Mercedes-Benz Newmarket are back and better than ever,” the town said on its social media. “Join us for a winter wonderland of fun activities.”

The annual event features regular LED tree light shows every half hour, plus different buskers each week. Performers include the Fire Guy Dec. 2, Scarlet Black Dec. 16, Zola Molotov Dec. 16, Dawn Dreams Dec. 23 and Bex in Motion Dec. 30. Buskers will perform at 7 and 8 p.m.

The town warns that the LED tree display features flickering lights and music and you should be cautious if you have any sensitivities to these types of visual and auditory displays.

The first Frozen Friday of the year will feature Mayor John Taylor and a lighting ceremony to kick off the celebrations.

The free events will run every Friday in December from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
