What's open and closed over Christmas holidays

There is still time for last-minute shopping today before pretty much everything closes for Christmas Day celebrations

Christmas Day and Boxing Day are statutory holidays.

Christmas Eve

What's open:

All malls and shopping centres in the region will close early, including Upper Canada Mall (at 5 p.m.), Promenade Shopping MallVaughan Mills, (at 6 p.m.), CF Markville Mall and Hillcrest Mall

LCBO and beer stores close at 6 p.m. Check the store locator section of the LCBO website here.

Restaurants, though many close early, so check for hours first.

Christmas Day

What’s open:

Some health clinics pharmacies. You can search for local pharmacies and clinics here.

Movie theatres. Click here for SilverCity Newmarket show times.

What’s closed:

Most businesses.

Government services will be closed, including Canada Post, with no collection or delivery of mail.

All Town of Newmarket facilities, including the Magna fitness centre. Click here for more details.

Boxing Day

What’s Open:

All malls and shopping centres, including Upper Canada Mall (to 8 p.m.), Promenade Shopping MallVaughan Mills, (to 9 p.m.), Tanger Outlet (to 8 p.m.), CF Markville Mall and Hillcrest Mall

In York Region, the following LCBO stores, McCowan and Highway 7 (192 Bullock) in Markham; Bayview and St. John (15830 Bayview Ave.) in Aurora, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
