Grab your friends and family members and enjoy one or more of these Town of Newmarket events this winter season.

Live Nativity Pageant
Dec. 24  at 7 p.m. at Fairy Lake Park (Water Street)

Join us for the 31st annual Outdoor Live Nativity Pageant presented by the Town of Newmarket and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A Journey to Bethlehem features a live cast with real animals representing the nativity scene and birth of Jesus Christ as told in the New Testament. Please dress warm. The show is free to attend and will last approximately 15 minutes. Free hot chocolate is available courtesy of the Cachet Supper Club while quantities last. Seating on the bleachers is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Winter Wonderland
Now until Feb. 16, 2019

Come out to Newmarket Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Dr.) and experience Newmarket's Winter Wonderland. Enjoy free outdoor skating at the Tim Horton's Skating and Water Feature, the Mitten Tree, the Newmarket Ice Lounge, sponsored by Jay Miller Real Estate and a beautiful light display.

Frozen Friday
Every Friday until Jan. 4

Join us for a fun, free outdoor winter experience including outdoor skating, a beautiful light display, Tim Hortons Express train rides, hot chocolate provided by Pickle Barrel, COBS Bread fun buns, a live DJ, Wickedly Sinful poutine food truck, and a fire/LED performance. Frozen Friday is sponsored by: Jay Miller Real Estate, TD Bank, Roadhouse and Rose, Cintas, COBS Bread, Main Street BIA, The Pickle Barrel, and Freedom Mobile.

Newmarket Ice Lounge and Surprise Saturdays

The Newmarket Ice Lounge is the ‘coolest’ place to hang out this winter. Check here for more information on surprise Saturdays at the Newmarket Ice Lounge with lots of great prizes sponsored by Jay Miller Real Estate. Train rides on the Tim Hortons Express Train is available every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. until Jan. 4 (weather permitting).

Mitten Tree
Visit our Mitten Tree throughout Winter Wonderland where residents have the opportunity to donate and/or take what is needed. Donations include new handmade or store-bought hats, mittens, socks and scarves with all remaining items being donated to Inn From the Cold, Belinda’s Place and Blue Door Shelters.

Tim Hortons First Night Newmarket
Dec. 31

Celebrate the end of 2018 with us and ring in the New Year. Enjoy an evening of family entertainment capped off with a countdown and amazing fireworks show at 9 p.m. Activities include:

Indoor Activities:

  • New Year's Eve Fam Jam – Glow in the Dark Dance Party
  • Featuring – live music by Urban Jive plus a live DJ
  • Free public skating (5 to 8 p.m.)
  • Free public swimming (5 to 8 p.m.)
  • Inflatables
  • Pulsar's Gymnastics Circuit
  • Face painting

Outdoor Activities:

  • Food Trucks - Free Tim Hortons Coffee & Hot Chocolate Truck, Award winning poutine provided by Wickedly Sinful
  • New Year's Eve countdown and fireworks 9 p.m. (outside east entrance parking lot)

This event has been brought to you in partnership with Tim Hortons.

Seniors’ Meeting Place New Year’s Dance
Dec. 31

Ring in the New Year and celebrate the arrival of 2019 with us at the Newmarket Seniors’ Meeting Place. There will be delicious platters, sweet treats, party favours, door prizes and more. Champagne will be served at midnight. To purchase tickets, please call 905-953-5325.
