Aurora is hosting its annual Santa Under the Stars parade along Yonge Steet Saturday night.

Thursday, Nov. 21

Holiday Market: The main floor of the York Region Administrative Centre is transforming into a bustling holiday market for one day. Find unique, memorable gifts while supporting local businesses and charities. Over 80 artisans and vendors, free admission, popcorn and hot chocolate with proceeds to United Way from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at York Region Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge St., Newmarket.

Marquee Theatre's Legally Blonde, Nov. 21 to 24: Marquee Theatrical Productions presents the inspiring, adult cast musical Legally Blonde, a fabulously fun, award-winning musical.  This show teaches us to recognize one's potential despite first appearances. Through lessons of empowerment, independence and integrity, it brings messages to promote self-belief, perseverance, and staying true to oneself. Multiple performance at NewRoads Performing Arts Centre, Newmarket at 7:30 p.m., and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets adult $35, senior/student/child $32.

Movember Mindful Meditation Fundraiser: Join a relaxing evening of meditation to support men's health during Movember from 6 to 7 p.m., Old Flame Brewing Co., 140 Main St. South, Newmarket.

Aurora Bridge Club: Play duplicate bridge weekly with the Aurora club at the Newmarket Veterans Association, 406 Millard Ave., from 12:15 to 4 p.m., open games Wednesdays and Fridays, Thursday 0-500. Price $6 to $10.

Saturday, Nov. 23

Santa Under the Stars Parade: Aurora is hosting its annual parade featuring decorated floats, marching bands and a few special guests from 6 to 8 p.m. This nighttime parade is full of magic, with beautifully decorated floats, incredible marching bands and a few special guests including the Jolly man-in-red himself. The parade will travel southbound along Yonge Street from Orchard Heights Boulevard to Murray Drive. Remember to bring your letters for Santa. More information can be found on the town’s website.

Jingle Bell Blitz: Valleyview Alliance Church, in partnership with Dickies’ No Frills, invite you to join the annual Jingle Bell Blitz food drive for the Newmarket Food Pantry from 8:30 to noon at Dickie’s No Frills, 17255 Leslie St., Newmarket.

Aurora ComiCon: Vendors selling comic books, toys, video games, sports cards, jewelry and pretty much anything geeky cool are at the Comicon from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Aurora Royal Canadian Legion Branch 385, 105 Industrial Parkway North.

GCW Live Wrestling: Great Canadian Wrestling come to town from 6 to 8:30 p.m.at Aurora Royal Canadian Legion Branch 385, 105 Industrial Parkway North. Tickets adult $15 in advance or $20 at the door, kids 12 and under $10 in advance or $15 at the door, front row reserved seats $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Outdoor Meditation All Seasons: Join the meditation group every Saturday outdoors in the beautiful setting of Fairy Lake Park at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., rain or shine.  Some mats, cushions, and chairs will be available. Dress appropriately for the weather, and feel free to bring a mat, cushion or folding chair if you like, but not necessary.

Sunday, Nov. 24

Run905 presents Run for your Mo Bros 5k Walk & Run: Lace up your shoes and come support your favourite moustache while running and having a blast with the Run905 and lululemon UCM crew from 9 a.m. to noon at Fairy Lake Park, Newmarket. 

Cinema Sundays: Aurora Public Library presents a free showing of a new film, ages 16 and older, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at 15145 Yonge St, Aurora.

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Thursday, Nov. 28: Based on the beloved, timeless film, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas musical comes the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre just in time for the holiday season. After the Second World War two veterans begin a successful song and dance act, following two singing sisters to their Christmas gig at a Vermont resort lodge. The dazzling score features well-known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean, and the perennial favourite, White Christmas. Adults $35 and seniors/students $27.

Newmarket Citizens Band presents Echoes of the 20th Century, Saturday, Nov. 30: Newmarket Citizens Band performs at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $25. 

Frozen Fridays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6, 13 and 20: Town of Newmarket's Frozen Fridays return with outdoor skating, hot chocolate and more from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Riverwalk Commons.

The Barra MacNeils - An East Coast Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 15: The show is a musical potpourri of traditional MacNeil family favourites gleaned from Christmas ceilidhs, midnight masses and the general festive frolic that accompanies each holiday season. With their captivating vocals, distinctive harmonies and extraordinary musicianship, The Barra MacNeils inject new life and energy into the sights and sounds of Christmas. At NewRoads Performing Arts Centre, Newmarket, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $72.

The Little Purrr-maid, Sunday, Dec. 22: The Very Useful Theatre Company and Panto Players present an interactive pantomime featuring fun for the whole family. Jackie English, former TVO host and actor in The Magic School Bus and Jackie’s School of Dance — has put together a stellar cast for a new pantomine. Jackie returns as the Cheshire Cat in The Little Purrr-maid along with the Pantos Players as your favourite sea creatures for the family friendly shows from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  at Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., Newmarket.  Tickets $15 to $20, family packages $60
