Friday, June 28

Aurora Bridge Club: Play duplicate bridge weekly with the Aurora club at the Newmarket Veterans Association, 406 Millard Ave., from 12:15 to 4 p.m., open games Wednesdays and Fridays, Thursday 0-500. Price $6 to $10.

Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival: The Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival will celebrate 40 years in the community. The event will feature live entertainment, shopping, games and fireworks. It runs from June 28, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and June 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 29

Newmarket Farmers' Market: The Newmarket Farmers' Market at Riverwalk Commons, on Doug Duncan Drive, where you can connect with local farmers, enjoy delicious treats, discover unique artisans, take in some live music, and enter a draw for a market basket, while visiting with family and friends. The market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until October.

Aurora Farmers' Market & Artisan Fair: Shop local, shop fresh at the Aurora Farmers' Market Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Oct. 26 at 49 Wells St. (northeast corner of Town Park) featuring artisans, farmers, food vendors and community groups.

Outdoor Meditation All Seasons: Join the meditation group every Saturday outdoors in the beautiful setting of Fairy Lake Park at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., rain or shine.  Some mats, cushions, and chairs will be available. Dress appropriately for the weather, and feel free to bring a mat, cushion or folding chair if you like, but not necessary.

Canada Day Celebrations Free Entry for Newbies: Celebrate Canada with free entry from June 29 to July 7th at CatholicLand Retreat Centre & FisHaven Pay-to-Fish in Holland Landing. The park is open daily from Sun-up to Sun-down.

York Regional Admin Centre Blood Donation: A community blood donation clinic is available to give back for those in need. Same day and open appointment spots are often available at donation events. Book now on blood.ca, use the GiveBlood app or call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283).

Lavender Polo Farm: The family lavender farm in East Gwillimbury is open for summer season with weekly farmer/vendor markets, weekly workshop sessions, monthly events, performances, natural products, and lavender picking in six fields with four different species of lavender totalling 100,000+ plants on 155 acres. New activities this year features weekly picnic bookings, candle and other maker workshops, and harvesting your own lavender plants. Aurora's Dance in the Park: Put on your dancing shoes and kick off the Canada Day festivities with the Dance in the Park with fantastic live bands, great food and the Rotary Beer Garden from 7 to 11 p.m. at Town Park, 49 Wells St. Performance schedule.

Monday, July 1

Newmarket's Tim Hortons Canada Day Festival: Canada festivities take place at Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr.,  from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live concerts, food vendors including a licensed area and barbecue managed by the North Newmarket Lions Club, rides on the Tim Hortons Express Train, busker entertainment, vendors, face painting, and more. Be sure to also check out the festivities happening next door on Newmarket's Main Street. Shuttle bus available.

Newmarket's Canada Day Concert and Fireworks: The Newmarket Citizens Band plays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a concert from 9 to 10 p.m. featuring the band Switchbeat, all at George Richardson Park, Bayview Parkway. Fireworks will take place from approximately 10:10 to 10:30 p.m.

Aurora's Canada Day Parade: Canada Day celebrations begin with the annual parade with marching bands, including the Governor Generals Horse Guards, cultural performers and more on Yonge Street, starting at 10 am. and travelling north from Edward Street to Aurora Heights Drive.

Town of Aurora Canada Day Festivities:  Celebrate Canada’s birthday with festivities that include live multicultural showcase and children’s activities, food vendors, mini golf, inflatables and more from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Lambert Willson Park and Aurora Family Leisure Complex. Enjoy back-to-back live bands, capping off with fireworks at 10 p.m. More details about the performance schedule and activities here.

Aurora's Concerts in the Park: The Town of Aurora and TD Bank Group host free live music every Wednesday at Aurora Town Park from 7 to 9 p.m. in July and August. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the Aurora Food Pantry for a chance for a prize pack. Bring your own portable chairs. Newmarket Music Series presented by TD Bank Group: Join the community every Thursday evening from July 4 to Aug. 22 for a free tribute band concert at Riverwalk Commons. Each concert will feature local performers and a premier tribute band.  

Moonlight Movies: Town of Newmarket will host Moonlight Movies throughout the month of August 2024 presented by TD. It will take place at various parks throughout town. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and watch a movie under the stars on a large inflatable screen. 

Splash of Culture: Join the town for an evening of musical performances by talented artists in a unique setting as the Town of Newmarket transforms the Mercedes-Benz Newmarket Skating and Water Feature into a beautifully lit stage complete with a baby grand piano Aug. 29.
