Vincent Charlemagne of Thornhill matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Aug. 9, 2024 Lotto Max draw to win $100,000.

Vincent Charlemagne of Thornhill would tell you that good things come in threes, particularly after his third major lottery win in just over 11 years.

The retiree

In August 2013, Charlemagne won more than $30 million with Lotto Max. Eight years later, in 2021, he returned to the OLG Prize Centre to claim a $1 million Lotto Max Maxmillions prize. Vincent is now celebrating his most recent win, which came by way of Encore.

“I went to the store and used the ticket checker to see the outcome of my tickets. When I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message on the screen, I was so excited to discover I had won again,” Charlemagne recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his most recent winnings. “I first shared the news with my son. He couldn’t believe it either, but was quick to congratulate me.”

While Vincent is not sure what he will do with his winnings, one thing is certain. “I am happy and comfortable. I definitely won’t be working anymore,” he said with a smile.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jane Variety & Gifts on Jane Street in North York.
