The Tapestry Chamber Choir has announced its shows for the 2022-2023 season, consisting of three choral concerts. The group is also looking for new singers to join them this season.

The first show of the season will be a Christmas concert Nov. 27 called Sing We Now of Christmas. The show will features harp-accompanied selections from Britten's Ceremony of Carols and more festive songs at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newmarket.

The next concert will celebrate the spring season March 5. Winter is Past will include what the Tapestry Chamber Choir calls a "musical potpourri" at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newmarket.

The third and final show of the season will take place May 6 and will feature Mozart's Requiem. The Tapestry Chamber Choir will perform this classic from the 18th century along with the York Chamber Ensemble. This show will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Newmarket.

In 2023, the choir will be celebrating 35 years of performing in York Region, having been founded in 1988. The group is currently under direction of Trevor Dearham, the former head of music at Dr. J.M. Denison Secondary School in Newmarket and supported by accompanist George Vandikas, who runs a music studio in town.

Ahead of the upcoming season, the group is looking for singers to join them. To become a member of the Tapestry Chamber Choir, you must go through the audition process, which includes attending a number of rehearsals with the group on a trial basis and then going through a short live audition.
