Despite not being able to hold their traditional concerts, York Region's Tapestry Chamber Choir is continuing to perform for the community.
The local choir is sharing a video of its spring 2021 concert that was performed and created from home.
“The tapestry choir continues to be an important musical voice in the York Region community and in the lives of our choir members, even during the COVID-19 pandemic,” choir director Trevor Dearham said in the video.
He said choir members each recorded their own segments from home and the clips were compiled by David Moore, one of the choir’s tenors, after countless hours of editing.
The concert, include here and on YouTube, features George Vandikas on piano and his son Harrison Vandikas on violin.
Tapestry Chamber Choir performed Kyrie and Gloria from Schubert’s Mass #2 in G Major, The Water is Wide, and Mairi’s Wedding, in the virtual concert.
“Tapestry very much hopes to be able to present live concert performances next season and we look forward to seeing you, our audience, again very soon,” Dearham said.
The choir has brought quality choral music to the York Region community for 32 years.
