Stand-up comedian Dom Pare is launching his debut comedy album with a live comedy show, with his "best comedic friends," Jan. 11 in Newmarket.

"Pare has long been recognized for his unique brand of humour that resonates with fans across North America. With a repertoire that combines wit, storytelling, and relatable anecdotes, Pare has captivated audiences in theatres, festivals, and comedy clubs alike," according to a news release.

He has appeared on Kevin Hart's LOL Network, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival televised gala, and multiple Just For Laughs performances, solidifying his reputation as one of the top comedians in the industry.

The album, titled Long Overdue, showcases Pare's signature style and will feature a collection of his best material, curated for fans and newcomers. The album launch show will not only mark the debut of this album but also provide a platform for Pare to showcase several other great comedic talents including Ryan Dillon (Just For Laughs & SiriusXM), DK Phan (CBC & Winnipeg Comedy Festival) and Jesse Ralph (Just For Laughs Toronto.)

"Comedy has always been a way for me to connect with people and share experiences," said Pare. "I am incredibly excited to celebrate the launch of my album with a live audience in Newmarket. It’s going to be a night filled with laughter, and I can’t wait to share my material with everyone."

For Pare, Newmarket offers a rare balance of family, friends and fans. The Old Town Hall came to Pare's attention through his aunt, Gail Neale, who serves as the front of house co-ordinator for the Town of Newmarket. In addition to that, Pare's friend Ralph, the founder of the Newmarket Comedy Festival, was keen to bring Dom to the area.

“I asked Dom to do the Newmarket Comedy Festival in 2025 but he said he was doing his own show at Old Town Hall… but he said I could do his show if I helped put posters up,” said Newmarket comedian Ralph with a smirk.

Of course, most important, are the many fans Pare has gained in Newmarket through decades of touring around the area.

The album launch comedy show will take place at 7 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2025 at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St. Tickets, $30, are available for purchase here.
