Chih-Hsiang (Jeremy) Chang, of Richmond Hill, and Wen-Ling Chang Shih, of Markham, won $100,000 in the Nov. 1 Lotto Max draw.

A Richmond Hill man and his Markham mother are $100,000 richer after winning in the Nov. 1 Lotto Max draw.

Chih-Hsiang (Jeremy) Chang and Wen-Ling Chang Shih matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order.

“My mom went to the store to check our ticket and discovered we’d won. When she told me the news, it was a bit of a shock, but I was very happy,” Chang said in a news release.

“I always believed we’d win some day. Now, I can donate to charity and help those in need. I’ll save for my child’s tuition.”

The winning ticket was purchased at FreshWay Foodmart on Highway 7 in Markham.
