Richmond Hill offering free workshops during Small Business Week

Personal branding, tourism engagement, teen community leaders, marketplace for small business among sessions offered Oct. 19 to 25

The City of Richmond Hill is offering a series of free webinars, workshops and events to support local entrepreneurs during Small Business Week.

From Oct. 19 to 25, industry experts, government representatives and local business leaders will provide participants with the tools, resources and insights needed to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in today’s economic landscape, a city news release said.

Sessions for the week include: 

  • Marketplace for Small Businesses — Oct. 19, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Teen Community Leaders Program — Oct. 21, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Import Export Webinar (virtual) — Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Tourism Engagement Event — Oct. 23, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Entrepreneurship Finance Conference (virtual; sponsored by FedDev Ontario) — Oct. 24, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Special Post-Conference Event — Oct. 24, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Personal Branding Workshop (virtual) — Oct. 25, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Participants are invited to attend one, some or all of the events.

Richmond Hill is home to more than 4,500 businesses with 29 employees or less (2022 York Region Employment Survey). Small Business Week is hosted by the city’s Small Business Enterprise Centre, a partnership between Richmond Hill and the Ontario government, belonging to a network of 54 Small Business Enterprise Centres across Ontario that offers entrepreneurs various tools to start and grow their businesses.
