Nowruz at Hillcrest
Richmond Hill is home to a vibrant Iranian community. A number of community organizations are contributing to what will be a colourful and lively Nowruz celebration on Sunday, March 16 from noon to 4 p.m. in Centre Court.
Nowruz is the Persian New Year, celebrated annually on the spring equinox and marking the arrival of the new season. This year’s festivities include traditional dance performances from community partner Hoor Dance, as well as a stunning Haft-Sin table and floral backdrop, perfect for family photo opportunities.
“Our programming is designed to engage with and reflect the surrounding community. Whether it’s family programming for March break or embracing the joy of cultural events, Hillcrest is an important community destination,” said Ryan Da Silva, Hillcrest Mall’s director and general manager, in a news release.
