A storefront on Main Street in Newmarket was transformed into the set of The Fallen Angels Book Club — a Lifetime movie series — this week.
Brain Power Studio storefront at 189 Main St. was draped with black fabric, and a sidewalk sign out front pointed to "F.A.B.C Set."
The Newmarket-based company has produced more than 40 long-form movies and films at various locations throughout Newmarket and surrounding area, including at its 4,000 square-foot studio in town.
This movie series is being executive produced by Brain Power's Beth Stevenson and Nancy Yeaman, as well as Toni Braxton and Rhonda Baraka.
Grammy-award winning actress Toni Braxton also stars as main character Hollis Morgan, while Baraka is the script writer for the series based on the Hollis Morgan mystery book series by R. Franklin James.
The story follows ex-con Hollis Morgan who joins a book club for women with criminal records. However, things turn sinister when members of the club end up being murdered.
The first instalment of the film series is expected to premiere in 2022.
