Like most of the LCBO locations across the province, the Aurora outlet was quickly out of stock of the limited supply of free rapid COVID-19 test kits.

The Aurora store, at Bayview Avenue and St. John's Sideroad, was included in the 100-locations provincewide distributing kits this week, however, LCBO tweeted at about 11 a.m. today, Dec. 17, that the location was already out of stock.

When NewmarketToday contacted the store, an employee confirmed they do not have any more kits and added that the phone has been ringing off the hook all day.

"Please be aware that select LCBO locations will receive test kit supplies today, but we cannot confirm arrival times at each location and expect our limited supply to go quickly," LCBO stated.

You're advised to follow the LCBO twitter feed for updates on stock at all locations.

The LCBO said it is working to post signage outside stores indicating whether they have stock of test kits, are out of stock, or are expecting to receive test kits. As of 1:30 p.m., 49 stores were listed as out of stock.

Along with the Aurora store, four other LCBO locations in York Region are included on the list of distributors: the Bathurst and Centre store at The Promenade in Thornhill; and the Vaughan stores at Dufferin and Major Mackenzie, Highway 27 and Innovation Drive, and Highway 7 and Weston.

On Dec. 19 through to Dec. 21, Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket will also be hosting a pop-up to distribute the rapid test kits. It will be held at the former Arthur's Landing patio, on the east side of the mall, off of Yonge Street.

The pop-ups and LCBO distributions are part of the provincial government's holiday testing blitz. Most of the sites will offer take home test kits while some will offer on site rapid testing.

The distributions are subject to supply and more locations are expected to be added in the coming days.
