A 15-year-old Newmarket girl who was missing for nine days was found safe and returned home Monday, York Regional Police confirmed yesterday on its Twitter account.
The teenager was reported missing Sept. 28 after leaving her Newmarket home.
Mom Cheyenna Latanville posted on her Facebook wall in the early hours of Monday morning that she had “another late night walking the streets trying to find her daughter”. She begged her daughter, Jaeden, to call home so she could hear her voice and know that she was OK.
Not long after that post, Latanville wrote York police had just contacted her and said they had located the missing teen and were bringing her home.
“I very much from the bottom of my heart, want to thank everyone for their help and support and prayers in helping me find my daughter,” Latanville wrote. “It’s been a scary and very stressful and worrisome time for me, so thank you and God bless.”
