With high school proms and other special events approaching, Upper Canada Mall is holding a Glam Season event, as well as collecting gently used prom dresses and formal wear for Girls Inc.

From March 14 to 16, from noon to 4 p.m., Centre Court will feature retailers offering a range of styles, suits, makeup and accessories for any special events this spring.

The Newmarket mall is teaming up with Girls Inc., York Region chapter, to provide a station where gently used prom dresses and other formal wear will be accepted for the organization’s April prom drive.

Event stylist Rebecca Chan will be giving the space a glow-up, weaving in whimsical and enchanting elements in her designs. A DJ will be on site for the event so shoppers can jam while they glam. Each day will feature a different activity, and guests can participate with either a small monetary donation to Girls Inc. or a dress donation. Activities include:

Friday, March 14 — Guests are invited to design their own makeup bags with fun and trendy iron on patches.

Saturday, March 15 — An engraver will be on site doing custom engraving on compact mirrors for a bespoke experience.

Sunday, March 16 — A colour expert will be hosting consultations for guests to learn about which colours best complement them.

Following the event, Upper Canada Mall will continue to collect dresses on behalf of Girls Inc. at Guest Experience until April 4.

Participating retailers include Beauty First, Ever New, Honey, Hudson’s Bay, Laura, Lovisa, MAC Cosmetics, Melanie Lyne, Tip Top Tailors, Windsor

“Upper Canada Mall has a wide array of fun and formal retailers. There are more than 50 high schools in the surrounding area and an ever-growing population, which is why we are continuing to introduce innovative activities like Glam Season 2025 to meet the community’s special occasion needs,” said Ryan Da Silva, Upper Canada Mall’s director and general manager, in a news release.
