The Town of Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons and the Fred A. Lundy Bridge will be illuminated yellow and blue this evening to show support and stand in solidarity with Ukraine.
“The Town of Newmarket stands in solidarity with the people in Ukraine who are displaced and living in fear for themselves, their families and the future of their country,” says Mayor John Taylor. “My heartfelt condolences go out to those who have lost their lives to this senseless hostility. I would also like to extend my support to the Ukraine-Canadian community who are doing what they can to help their friends and family members abroad as they watch Russia's armed confrontation in horror."
The lights at Riverwalk Commons and the Fred A. Lundy Bridge will be illuminated from dusk until 1 a.m.
