The Town of Newmarket is inviting residents to celebrate the new year together at the annual mayor’s New Year’s Levée Friday evening.
Hosted at downtown Riverwalk Commons, the town is offering plenty of festivities, including a live outdoor concert with the Bianca Rollo Band, skating performances by the Newmarket Skating Club and a fire and LED performance by the FireGuy.
“Mayor Taylor and Newmarket council welcome the community to join them to celebrate the start of the new year,” the town said.
The event is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and also features free hot chocolate, beavertails, buns, lollipops and taffy on snow. There will also be a free raffle with a variety of prizes.
The town will have an associated road closure that night, with Timothy Street shut down from Doug Duncan Drive and Cedar Street Jan. 12. The closure will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
