LeeAnn Manners is constantly working to improve her community, all while having a smile on her face.

As a coordinator for the Newmarket Co-op Homes Foodshare, LeeAnn helps to organize teams to ensure people in the area have access to emergency food.

The Newmarket Co-op Homes Foodshare supplements up to 40 households each month, with LeeAnn leading the charge.

Inspired by LeeAnn, a close friend (who wished to remain anonymous) nominated her for a NewmarketToday Random Act of Kindness.

“LeeAnn is the backbone of the community,” said her nominator when asked about LeeAnn’s character. “She has guided the members' food pantry program through the pandemic and works tirelessly for her neighbours to ensure no one goes hungry.”

We decided to pay Leann’s kindness forward and surprise her with a Random Act of Kindness, arriving at Newmarket Cooperative Homes Community Centre with gifts from our generous community partners.

This included a gift certificate for a spa day and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers.

LeeAnn was surprised and flattered to receive the Random Act of Kindness.

“I’m going to cry,“ said LeeAnn. “Everything I do is for my community and that is a team effort, I have lots of help and support from my team.”

Thank you to our co-sponsors Fairty Girls Flower Farm, Vince's Market, and Dawson Manor Spa for making this Random Act of Kindness possible.

If you know someone in the community who deserves recognition for their selfless actions, positivity in the face of hardship, or just for being a great person, you can nominate them for a Random Act of Kindness. Fill out our nomination form today!
