Truck drivers looking for work and individuals interested in beginning their trucking or professional driving career can make connections with industry employers at the City of Barrie and County of Simcoe commercial trucking and driver job fair Wednesday, April 10 at the Allandale Recreation Centre (190 Bayview Dr., Barrie) from 5 to 7 p.m.

Employers hiring for jobs, including public transit, delivery and commercial truck drivers, will be at the fair, as well as industry veterans talking about the benefits of a career in commercial trucking and professional driving. You can also check out a trucking simulator and VR experience.

“Following the success of last year’s job fair, Invest Barrie is pleased to be working with the County of Simcoe once again to host the Commercial Trucking and Driver Job Fair,” said Stephannie Schlichter, director of Invest Barrie, in a news release. “Connecting talent to local employers is a key priority for Invest Barrie and this job fair is one way we can do that and help address the labour shortage facing the Canadian trucking and professional driving industries.”

“We are happy to partner with the City of Barrie to deliver the Commercial Trucking and Driver Job Fair. Building upon last year’s success, this event presents great opportunities to connect area companies to job seekers and increase awareness of available training, resources, and career pathways,” added Nancy Huether, director of economic development and airport services at the County of Simcoe.
