“It’s just…‘Wow!’” says Jimmy Stamatopoulos of Stouffville after a $100,000 lottery windfall.

Stamatopoulos, who works in construction, struck it big with the Lotto 6/49 Super Draw on Dec. 25, 2024.

The married father of one said he plays the lottery weekly, and this is his first big win.

“When I checked my Lotto 6/49 ticket using the OLG app, I was stunned,” he recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I must have checked it three times to make sure I was seeing the prize amount right. When I told my wife and son, they thought I was joking around. They were so happy when they realized I wasn’t!”

“Winning feels surreal and unbelievable,” he added.

Stamatopoulos plans to save and invest his windfall.

The winning ticket was purchased at the CNIB kiosk in Walmart on Hoover Park Drive in Stouffville.
