Today is Bell Let's Talk Day, a day to spark conversations about mental health, raise awareness and to make positive change.

Positive change includes taking actionable steps to help connect those who are struggling to receive the support and services they need so they can begin their journey to wellness and recovery.

Many of our clients, families and caregivers, have told us that they didn't know where to go for support or how to access it, and they had no idea that help was available now in their local communities.

So, when we talk about our mental health today, let's also talk about where to get help and how to connect to mental health and addictions supports available in our community. Make sure to include the hashtags #CallTalkConnect and #upyourlife and refer to the following local services:

  • Mental Health Crisis: Call our Community Crisis Response Services available at 1-855-310-COPE (2673) offers support via a 24/7 crisis line, and live chat at cope.yssn.ca or via text 1-855-310-2673, every day from 7:00 a.m. to midnight.
  • Mental Health and/or Addictions Recovery: Call Streamlined Access at 1-844-660-6602, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., or apply online at yssn.ca/streamlined-access.
  • In-Person Mental Health Support: There are numerous ways can connect with us in-person for support, please refer to our event listing below.
  • Online Self-Help Resources: Visit UpHub.ca for available services offered in York Region, local events and a collection of peer-led tools and resources.
