Philip Cosentino, a 59-year-old father of two, is celebrating a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize.

A 59-year-old Aurora father of two is celebrating a lottery win of $1 million with plans to pay bills and save.

"I went completely numb. I couldn't believe it. I had to bring it up to the store clerk to be sure," said Philip Cosentino, who won the MAXMILLIONS prize in the Oct. 14, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw. "I called my wife right away and she did not believe me! She drove to the store herself to see it with her own eyes."

He said he doesn’t have any major plans for his winnings right now.

"At the moment, I plan to pay bills and save," he said.

After playing the lottery for 25 years, Cosentino said this is his "first major win," though he won $14,000 on POOLS previously.

"I play LOTTO MAX when the jackpot is high, and I normally play PROLINE," he added.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $7.4 billion since 2009, including 94 jackpot wins and 841 MAXMILLIONS prizes, OLG said in a news release.

The winning ticket was purchased at King Convenience on King Road in King City.
