Ferdinand Malapitan celebrates with his cheque for $75,000 from playing OLG Daily Keno.

Ferdinand Malapitan of Woodbridge is planning to invest and save for his son's education after winning $75,000 in a Daily Keno 10 Pick on Jan. 1.

“I was at the store when I used their ticket checker to see how I did on my Daily Keno ticket,” he recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I couldn’t believe my eyes! I stood there in shock and scanned my ticket a few more times as it started to sink in that I’d won.”

“This has been such an exciting time,” Ferdinand smiled. “As much as I hoped and dreamed for a moment like this, I never thought it would happen. I’m so happy!”

Malapitan, a machine operator, regularly plays Daily Keno, choosing random numbers for each draw.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Islington Avenue in Woodbridge.
