Christmas Market Fair: Cardinal Carter High School in Aurora is hosting a market at the school including crochet, food, jewellery, candles and more. All proceeds will go to providing Christmas to a local family in need. The event will run from 4:30-9 p.m. at 210 Bloomington Rd. Patrons are asked to bring cash.
Friday, Nov. 15
Candlelight Parade: The Newmarket Main Street BIA is hosting its annual Candlelight Parade to mark the holiday season. The parade will begin at 6:45 p.m. and feature the Newmarket Citizens band and free hot chocolate and candles for the first 300 guests. The parade will form up at Main Street and Water Street.
Niemi Scandinavian Christmas Market: Niemi Family Farm offers a Christmas market every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 21. The market in Mount Albert will feature local vendors, bakery, gift shop, Santa meet and greet, Christmas trees, a Christmas train and more. The market is at 18463 Highway 48 and runs every Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.
The Sisters Touch of Christmas to Dec. 24: An exclusive fundraising, seasonal Christmas store at the St. Kosmas Aitolos Greek Orthodox Monastery, 14155 Caledon King Townline S., in Bolton. It features one-of-a-kind, hand-painted ornaments by The Sisters. In addition to festive gourmet and holiday bakery, the store is adorned with beautiful wreaths, elegant garlands, illuminated decor, seasonal linens, precious nativities and a large variety of timeless ornaments. The store will be open Thursday to Sunday all holiday season.
Saturday, Nov. 16
Newmarket Santa Claus Parade: Welcome Santa Claus to Newmarket at the town's annual Santa parade from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main Street Newmarket, beginning at Eagle Street. Bundle up and bring your family and friends to see the festive holiday floats followed by our special guest - jolly Old St. Nick. Remember to bring your letter to Santa to be picked up by Canada Post and your non-perishable food item to be collected for the Newmarket Food Pantry.
Central York Chamber of Commerce Pop-Up Christmas Market: The chamber is hosting a Christmas market at the Old Town Hall from noon to 4 p.m. with 48 local vendors, hot chocolate and coffee from Commons Coffee and free photos with Santa Claus from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is part of a holiday market trail happening on the day.
Market Brewing: Market Brewing will be holding an outdoor market experience from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a $5 entry or a donation to Newmarket Food Pantry. The market will feature 20-plus vendors, live music along Market Brewing Co. drinks and the Smash N Grab Burgers food truck.
ADM Design Inc.: ADM Design and Decor at 505 Queen St. is hosting a holiday market with a showroom filled with beautiful holiday decor.
Snowflake Bazaar: The St. John Chrysostom Catholic Women's League invites you to their annual Snowflake Bazaar on November 16th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can stop in and check out the homemade baked goods, crafts, raffles, auctions, hot lunch, and much more. You can enter the Parish Hall doors at the corner of Main St. and Ontario St.

East Gwillimbury Santa Claus Parade: Santa Claus comes to town for the annual parade with festive floats and marching bands beginning at 3 p.m. at Mount Albert Road and Leslie Street (19000 Leslie in front of the Civic Centre) and ends at the EG Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Rd.) Donations for the toy and food drive will be collected along the route. You can start your holiday shopping early with EG’s Christmas market from 2 to 6 p.m. at the EG Sports Complex. You can also enjoy a free skate from 2 to 5 p.m. and join the mayor and council for the official tree lighting at 5 p.m. at the EG Sports Complex.

United Way Holiday Market: The main floor of the York Region Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge St., Newmarket transforms into a bustling holiday market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shoppers will find memorable, unique holiday gifts while supporting local businesses and charities. This year’s market will feature more than 80 artisans and vendors. This is a free event and open to all York Region employees and the public in support of the United Way of Greater Toronto.

Pickering College Annual Holiday Home Tour: Pickering College in Newmarket is holding its annual Holiday Home Tour, featuring a variety of resplendent, glittering homes, each uniquely themed, designed and decorated for the holidays by local professional designers and florists in Newmarket. You can meet the designers here. Friday ticket price includes access to all of the homes on the tour on Nov. 22, in-home snacks and entertainment, a souvenir program complete with a detailed tour route map, a description of each home, its design team, and more! Friday ticket holders are also welcome to attend any unviewed homes on Saturday. The Saturday ticket price includes access to all of the homes on the tour on Nov. 23 only and a copy of the program. Newmarket Farmers’ Market: The local farmers’ market will be holding its annual Christmas markets Nov. 23 and 30. The market will feature goods from local farms, including specialty foods, seasonal gifts and unique artisans. The market will also feature live music and gather donations for the Newmarket Food Pantry. It will run both days from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall at 200 Doug Duncan Dr.
Amica Newmarket’s Annual Christmas Bazaar: Amica Newmarket will be hosting 60 artisan and direct sale vendors for its annual bazaar at 275 Doak Lane. It will also feature a free caricature artist, complimentary tea and coffee, raffle tickets, a bake table and more. Money raised will go to the Helping Hands Charity, helping seniors in need. The market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
St. Paul’s Anglican Church: The church will be hosting its annual Christmas market and sale at 9 a.m. at 227 Church St. The market will feature treasures for decoration, a gift baskets raffle, baked goods, crafts and more.
A Christmas Concert: The Evergreen Choir will be presenting its annual festive show at the Aurora Seniors Centre, located at 90 John West Way. A Christmas Concert, is set to be on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the centre.
Santa Under the Stars Parade: Aurora is hosting its annual parade featuring decorated floats, marching bands and a few special guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus will also make an appearance on this sleigh. More information can be found on the town’s website.

Aurora Christmas Market: Aurora's Christmas Market will be returning to town this year, but for the first time in the newly opened Town Square from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature hands-on workshops and activities, fantastic seasonal vendors and food vendors. Newmarket Group Of Artists Holiday Show & Sale: The Newmarket Group of Artists holds its annual show and sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., Newmarket. This year’s event has 25 participating artists, as well as vendors and a conceptual show on display.

Pickering College Seasonal Boutique Holiday Market: The annual event features dozens of local vendors showcasing the best gifts for the holiday season. This is a wonderful opportunity to get started on your holiday shopping by visiting some local, market style vendors, featuring: jewelry, apparel, candles, skin care, home decor, handbags, artisanal and specialty foods items and more. This event is free to the public and hosted on the picturesque Pickering College campus on Bayview Avenue in Newmarket from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Old Fashioned Christmas Craft Show: The Grandparent Connection presents its ninth annual Christmas craft show. The show features over 70 local crafters and artisans, prizes, live performances a Christmas cafe and more. The show will also have a display by Routes Connecting Communities. The show will run at the Newmarket Community Centre at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
