Off the Rock Christmas Show: Off The Rock will be performing a tribute to Newfoundland band Great Big Sea at the Aurora Legion. The group are making their debut at the Legion, after two sold-out shows at the Newmarket Old Town Hall, mixing the hits with traditional Newfoundland tunes and some festive music. Niemi Scandinavian Christmas Market: Niemi Family Farm offers a Christmas market every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 21. The market in Mount Albert will feature local vendors, bakery, gift shop, Santa meet and greet, Christmas trees, a Christmas train and more. The market is at 18463 Highway 48 and runs every Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.

Community Christmas Drop-In: Volunteers invite anyone to come and enjoy free Christmas meals at the Newmarket Community Centre/Lions Hall. Running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a light breakfast starting at 9 a.m., a traditional turkey luncheon at 1 p.m., along with games and fun activities.

Clock Strikes Midnight: Postmark Hotel New Year's Eve Party: The Postmark Hotel will be hosting a glamorous party with panoramic views. Sip champagne, snap photos and dance until the clock strikes midnight. Tickets are $86, doors open at 10:30 p.m.
Tim Hortons First Night: The Town of Newmarket is hosting its annual New Year's Eve celebrations at the Magna Centre. Performances from the Newmarket Skating Club at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., public swimming and skating from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., a live outdoor concert by Switchbeat from 5 to 6 p.m. and a free fireworks display at 6 p.m.
