Holiday Night of Lights:  A massive light show is arriving at Upper Canada Mall. Go through a walkway with more than 1.5 million LED lights, featuring food, carnival rides and more. Runs every weekend starting from 5 p.m. Adult tickets $20.99, more information at nightsoflights.ca.

Friday, Dec. 20

Off the Rock Christmas Show: Off The Rock will be performing a tribute to Newfoundland band Great Big Sea at the Aurora Legion. The group are making their debut at the Legion, after two sold-out shows at the Newmarket Old Town Hall, mixing the hits with traditional Newfoundland tunes and some festive music. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., at the Aurora Legion at 105 Industrial Pkwy. N. Tickets online.

Fridays and Saturdays until Dec. 21

Niemi Scandinavian Christmas Market: Niemi Family Farm offers a Christmas market every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 21. The market in Mount Albert will feature local vendors, bakery, gift shop, Santa meet and greet, Christmas trees, a Christmas train and more. The market is at 18463 Highway 48 and runs every Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 21

Christmas at the Farm: B&B Stables is hosting a pancake breakfast with Santa and the Grinch from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can also enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, tractor games and activities. Located at 13189 Concession Rd. 4, Zephyr, Durham. Pre-registered by emailing [email protected] with Christmas on the Farm in the header. Admission $15 per person, free entry for children three and under.

Sunday, Dec. 22

The Nutcracker:The York Dance Academy with guest artist Bryce Johnson is putting on the Nutcracker, "a holiday tradition with a contemporary twist" at the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre. Show starts at 2 p.m., tickets available for $35.

Monday, Dec. 23

Walk With Christmas Spirit: Ten Gallon Bar and Grill is hosting a holiday-themed concert by local musician Owen. M, featuring various holiday covers and originals.Tickets $15 each, concert runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at 446 Davis Dr. 

Wednesday, Dec. 25

Community Christmas Drop-In: Volunteers invite anyone to come and enjoy free Christmas meals at the Newmarket Community Centre/Lions Hall. Running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a light breakfast starting at 9 a.m., a traditional turkey luncheon at 1 p.m., along with games and fun activities. 

Dec. 31 

Clock Strikes Midnight: Postmark Hotel New Year's Eve Party: The Postmark Hotel will be hosting a glamorous party with panoramic views. Sip champagne, snap photos and dance until the clock strikes midnight. Tickets are $86, doors open at 10:30 p.m.

Tim Hortons First Night: The Town of Newmarket is hosting its annual New Year's Eve celebrations at the Magna Centre. Performances from the Newmarket Skating Club at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., public swimming and skating from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., a live outdoor concert by Switchbeat from 5 to 6 p.m. and a free fireworks display at 6 p.m.

New Years's Eve 2025 at Fionn MacCools Newmarket: Fionn MacCools invited you to celebrate the new year with live music, good friends and dancing with The Hit Disturbers. Limited tickets available on Eventbrite costing $28. Located at 17315 Leslie St., doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 9 p.m. and a champagne toast at midnight.
