Georgina has plans for a spooky October

Georgina is offering plenty of fun activities for the whole family to celebrate Halloween and the harvest season. 

Halloween-themed workshops at Georgina Pioneer Village
Check out the fun Halloween-themed workshops at Georgina Pioneer Village throughout October. There is spooky themed paint night, wooden folk-art witch, spooky apothecary décor and a kids ghost and pumpkin garland. Click here and check out the programs to learn more about dates and times. Fees vary depending on the program.

Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre Open House
Join the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre for a PAW-some day of fun, furry friends and fantastic family activities on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will enjoy meet and greets with pets looking for their forever homes, a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter, learn about pet nutrition and more. There will also be a donation barbecue and kids’ activities. The shelter will collect donations of gently used or new items for the "Mew to You" sale or silent auction table. The shelter will also be collecting non-perishable food items for people and pets to support the Georgina Community Food Pantry. For more information or to donate, click here.

Georgina Senior Games
Georgina’s Senior Games are an annual, friendly competition open to Georgina residents 55 years of age and older. There are a wide variety of events to choose from and residents can sign up to participate in as many as they like. The games continue until Oct. 25. Complete the online registration form or drop in to a facility to pick up a paper copy.

Community Open House
Join the Community Open House on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Multi-Use Recreation Complex (MURC). Explore the town’s fleet and equipment, take a tour of the MURC, and learn more about the services, programs, projects and positions the town is recruiting for, and events that Georgina has to offer.

Family Fright
On Saturday, Oct. 19 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Georgina Pioneer Village hosts the annual Family Fright event. Celebrate Halloween and enjoy spine-chilling stories and spooktacular activities. Dress in your scariest costume for live performances and games and indulge in devilishly delicious treats. A bewitching experience for the whole family.

Halloween Pool Haunt
Get frightfully soaked at the Halloween Pool Haunt at the Georgina Leisure Pool on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Or, at the Multi-Use Recreation Complex on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy enchanting games, ghoulish giveaways and hocus pocus. It’s spook-tacular fun for the whole family.

Last Curbside Giveaway of 2024
Saturday, Oct. 26, is the final Curbside Giveaway Day this year. Put unwanted items out at the curb for others to take free of charge between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. All unclaimed items must be removed by 5 p.m.

Two Dark Nights
Join us for Two Dark Nights, a guided ghost walk with the Georgina Paranormal Society around Georgina Pioneer Village on Oct. 25 or Oct. 28. Using state-of-the-art ghost-hunting equipment, be introduced to ghostly history about some of the encounters experienced onsite. Four sessions available over two nights. Space is limited. Pre-registration required. 18+.
