Freezing rain warning for Sunday, Jan. 9 in effect for:
- Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
- Uxbridge - Beaverton - Northern Durham Region
Periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle this morning.
Hazards:
Untreated surfaces like roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
When:
Until later this morning.
Discussion:
Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark later this morning ending the risk of freezing rain.
Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
