Frank Stronach’s Newmarket hearing is set to return to court on March 24, after a judicial pre-trial hearing in Newmarket on Monday, March 17.
The matter will return to court next Monday to set dates by video.
Stronach, the founder of Aurora-based automotive manufacture Magna International, has been charged with several counts of sexual assault, with the alleged incidents dating back to the 1970s. Peel Regional Police reported that Stronach faces a total of 18 charges relating to 13 victims.
The charges have not yet been proven in court, with the 92-year-old Stronach denying the allegations.
Stronach was first arrested by Peel Regional Police on June 7. His lawyer, Leora Shemesh, sought to move the case from criminal court in Brampton, in Peel Region, a move that proved successful.
Two separate hearings are being held, with the other in Toronto court. The Toronto matter is returning to court on April 11 at 10 a.m. in courtroom 1404, for a preliminary hearing, at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury St., Toronto.
The Newmarket matter will return to court on March 24 at 10:30 a.m. to set dates by video.
