11 more cases in Newmarket, active cases drop below 100, while positivity jumps to 11.5%; York Region reports 85 new cases, active cases drop to 837, as positivity is high at 9.9%; Ontario reports 1,039 new cases, 33 more deaths, 19,026 active cases, as testing numbers plunge

York Region Public Health has confirmed with Public Health Ontario Laboratories a number of positive test results have been reclassified to negative, according to region spokesperson Patrick Casey. As a result, these cases have been removed from the overall case count and outbreaks. These cases were fully investigated and all contacts traced at the time of initial case confirmation. Public Health continues to investigate and determine the exact number of cases involved.  

Also, workplace outbreak data has not been updated due to a technical issue and will continue to show data as of Saturday, May 22 at 5 p.m until the issue is resolved. York Region cases related to these outbreaks continue to be fully investigated and all contacts traced.
