CMHA York gets $20K grant for insomnia pilot project

With the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund grant, adults in York Region will have access to evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia through a pilot program

Canadian Mental Health Association York Region South Simcoe is one of 75 recipients of the 2024 Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund.

With Bell Canada’s support of $20,000, adults in York Region will have access to evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia through a pilot program launching in January 2025.

“The purpose of the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund is to support grassroots organizations that are providing essential mental health supports and services in communities across Canada. Bell is proud to support these 75 organizations that are making a difference and supporting people dealing with mental health issues,” said Mary Deacon, chair of Bell Let’s Talk.

The 2024 Community Fund recipients include organizations focusing on providing care to seniors, youth, people dealing with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction and substance abuse.

Since the launch of the fund in 2011, more than 1,175 organizations from across the country have received grants totalling over $22 million.
