Newmarket’s Emmy Kelly of Blue Door is the winner of the 2022 Women of Excellence Award.
Lauded as a passionate and strategic leader, the COO has expanded the programs and services at the organization that is the largest emergency housing provider in York Region for children, youth, men, women, and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
The NewRoads Automotive Group-sponsored award was announced today, March 9, during the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce’s annual Celebration of Women, held virtually and at a sold-out in-person event at the NewRoads Centre for the Performing Arts to mark International Women's Day.
The other finalists were Barbara Steed, executive vice-president of clinical services at Southlake Regional Health Centre, and Kate Greavette, executive director of the York Region Food Network and chair of the York Region Food Council.
None of the finalists attended the event in person.
In total, 30 women were nominated for the award.
Proceeds of the event benefit Women’s Centre of York Region and Girls Inc. of York Region.
